The Crucible, Act 1. Tituba attempts to tell the truth about Abigail’s role as effective ringleader in the witchcraft gathering of the girls in the woods. Tituba starts to explain to the two ministers Hale and Parris how Abby begged her to make a charm of chicken’s blood for Abby to drink so Elizabeth Proctor would die and Abby would win John Proctor. But Tituba is quickly shouted down by Abby.
