Othello, Act 4, Scene 3. Emilia wishes that Desdemona had never married Othello because of the way he has treated her. Perceptive and outspoken in her views, Emilia values her friendship with Desdemona and is very loyal to and protective of her. Given the events that follow, Emilia’s warning about Othello turns out to be tragically right, it would have been better had Desdemona never set eyes on him.
