Othello, Act 2, Scene 3. Here Iago pretends to be Cassio’s friend. Without actually saying it, he implies that he loves Cassio, when in fact we know that he is doing his level best to ruin both Cassio and the man he works for Othello. This is a good example of dramatic irony.
