The price of greatness is responsibility.
– Winston Churchill
For me, documentary photography has always come with great responsibility. Not just to tell the story honestly and with empathy, but also to make sure the right people hear it. When you photograph somebody who is in pain or discomfort, they trust you to make sure the images will act as their advocate.
– Giles Duley
Writing for children, you do bear a responsibility to not include overt or graphic adult content that they are not ready for and don’t need, or to address adult concepts or themes from an oblique angle or a child’s limited viewpoint, with appropriate context, without being graphic or distressing.
– Garth Nix
You can be an idiot and survive because you just go to McDonalds for your food, and you go to work and do some sort of inane job, which is nobody taking any responsibility – it’s always up the line – and then you watch the Super Bowl, and that’s it. But in the old days, you really had to know how your world works. You don’t need that anymore.
– Harry Kroto
