"Odysseus. There was a man, or was he all a dream?"

– Homer

The Odyssey, Book 19, line 363. This line beautifully captures Penelope’s longing and love for her husband, even after twenty years of absence. She wonders if Odysseus ever really existed, or was he all a dream. The beggar has assured her that Odysseus is coming home, she wants to believe but she dares not hope.
