The Odyssey, Book 15, lines 447-450. Odysseus says this to Eumaeus after asking the swineherd to tell his tale of how he came to Ithaca. As the two share and enjoy each other’s stories, we are reminded of just how important storytelling was in ancient Greece, where it was both entertainment and an art form.
