The Odyssey, Book 15, lines 373-377. The passage demonstrates both Eumaeus’ hospitality and Odysseus’ cunning. After Odysseus tests the swineherd by offering to go to the suitors in the palace and ask for hospitality there, Eumaeus stops him and asks him to stay. Eumaeus passes Odysseus’ test.
