"Bring him home, our wise Odysseus, home at last!"

– Homer

The Odyssey, Book 14, line 479. As he has food prepared for his guest, Eumaeus offers a prayer to the gods to bring Odysseus home to Ithaca. This is dramatic irony, since the reader knows that the guest the swineherd is hosting is his master Odysseus, who is home in Ithaca.
