The Odyssey, Book 14, lines 350-353. Odysseus tells how Zeus strikes his ship with lightning but then saves him from disaster by pushing the mast his way so he can grab hold of it. A disguised Odysseus is relating a false tale to Eumaeus about his exploits in Egypt.
