Great Ajax fighting Trojan War in The Ioiad

Who’s that other Achaean, so powerful, so well-built?
He towers over the Argives, his head, his massive shoulders!

– Homer

The Iliad, Book 3, lines 271-272. When King Priam catches his first sighting of a daunting, powerfully built fighter among the Achaean ranks, he asks Helen who he is. Helen tells Priam that it is Great Ajax, who is said to tower over the other soldiers and to have massive shoulders.
