The Iliad, Book 21, lines 562-566. Hunt goddess Artemis has her bow and quiver stripped off her shoulders by Hera, who boxes her ears with her own weapons. Artemis runs away from Hera and withdraws from the battle, as a dove flying from a hawk’s attack, Homer writes in an epic simile.
