The Grapes of Wrath, Chapter 28. Tom recites a piece of scripture from Ecclesiastes, taught to him by Jim Casy. It says that people are stronger if they work together to help one another. Tom is quoting it in support of organized labor and fighting against the injustice and inequality meted out to workers.
