The Grapes of Wrath, Chapter 24. After a riot almost breaks out at Weedpatch, a nervous Pa Joad makes these comments about there being a restless feeling and that changes are on the way. This is foreshadowing of a workers’ revolt and strike in Chapter 26 and the death of labor activist Jim Casy.
