Speaking to Hale, she says that Abigail witnessed her sewing the poppet in court and sticking the needle into it for safekeeping. This casts doubt on Abby’s claim that Elizabeth’s spirit stabbed her with a needle while eating at Parris’s house. It suggests Abby stabbed herself with a needle in order to frame Elizabeth, knowing that the doll would be in the Proctor house at the time.
