Hamlet, Act 4, Scene 5. In the scene where she is revealed as mad, Ophelia sings a song about a young girl who loses her virginity before marriage. But the song reveals more about Ophelia’s own story. For it is suggested that Hamlet slept with her, and she may be be feeling guilty at losing her virginity to him.
