Romeo and Juliet, Act 4, Scene 1. Juliet takes the vial from Friar Laurence and blindly accepts his plan for her to drink a sleeping potion that simulates death. This is a reckless decision, one that she does not stop to think about and will turn out to have tragic consequences. Juliet’s hasty thinking and acting on emotions eventually lead to Romeo and her deaths.
