Give me some present counsel, or, behold,
‘Twixt my extremes and me this bloody knife
Shall play the umpire.

– William Shakespeare

Romeo and Juliet, Act 4, Scene 1. Holding a knife, a suicidal Juliet gives an ultimatum to Friar Laurence. If he doesn’t help stop her marriage to Paris, she threatens to kill herself. Juliet puts intense pressure on the Friar to find a solution to her problem. This is foreshadowing of her death, as she later commits suicide by stabbing herself.
