Romeo and Juliet, Act 3, Scene 1. After the killing of his friend Mercutio, Romeo predicts that today’s dark fate will lead to further sorrows. This foreshadows the tragic events to come, beginning with Romeo’s fight with Tybalt, which earlier he tried his best to avoid but now seems fated to happen.
