Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, Scene 6. Friar Laurence’s advice to Romeo echoes the proverb "More haste, less speed." He is concerned at the speed of Romeo’s love and marriage with Juliet. In a simile he cautions that loving too fast is as bad as loving too slow.
