Can I go forward when my heart is here?
Turn back, dull earth, and find thy centre out.

– William Shakespeare

Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, Scene 1. After leaving the Capulets’ party, Romeo climbs the wall of Capulet’s orchard and leaps down into the garden to find Juliet. After meeting her he cannot leave, because his "heart" is still there. Metaphorically he compares himself to dull or heavy earth. No longer having the ability to act freely, he is completely ruled by love.
