Pride and Prejudice, Chapter 24. Jane says to Elizabeth, when her sister expresses disbelief at her friend Charlotte entering a loveless marriage with Mr. Collins. Jane, who likes to see the good in everyone and everything, says that Mr. Collins is respectable and Charlotte sensible. From the point of view of Charlotte’s financial security it is a good match, she says.
