The Picture of Dorian Gray, Chapter 18. Lord Henry says this to Dorian, after Sir Geoffrey Clouston accidentally shoots a man while firing at a hare. This is a perfect example of irony, as Henry is standing right next to a real live murderer, Dorian, who has murdered Basil Hallward.
