Othello, Act 5, Scene 2. Emilia says this to the other men in the room after Iago orders her to go home. Bravely defying her husband, she stands up for what is morally right and chooses to speak in defense of the murdered Desdemona. We see the theme of gender and treatment of women here, Emilia feeling she has to ask permission of the men to stay and speak.
