My friend, thy husband, honest, honest Iago.

– William Shakespeare

Othello, Act 5, Scene 2. Othello reveals to Emilia that her husband Iago told him Desdemona was an adulterer. He says that Iago is being truthful and honest about Desdemona’s adultery. Othello’s description of Iago is very ironic for the audience, who know that Iago, far from being honest, is a dangerous deceiver who lied about Desdemona’s infidelity.
