Othello, Act 5, Scene 1. Iago lies through his teeth telling his wife Emilia how an attack by Roderigo has left Cassio wounded and Roderigo dead. But what really happened is: Iago instigated the attack, finished off an injured Roderigo and then stabbed Cassio. In a bid to blame Cassio’s girlfriend Bianca, Iago puts it all down to her having sex with so many men.
