Othello, Act 5, Scene 1. Othello hears Cassio’s voice screaming from a distance that he has been murdered and believes that Iago has fulfilled his promise to kill Cassio. What he doesn’t realize is that Cassio has merely been wounded in the leg in a surprise attack by Iago.
