Othello, Act 1, Scene 2. Brabantio orders the arrest of Othello for what he claims is corruption and practicing black magic on his daughter Desdemona. Invoking Venetian law, he believes that what Othello did was illegal. He says he must be brought to justice and if he resists he may be killed.
