DESDEMONA: If any such there be, heaven pardon him!
EMILIA: A halter pardon him! and hell gnaw his bones!

– William Shakespeare

Othello, Act 4, Scene 2. The women are talking about the man who planted the idea in Othello’s mind that Desdemona is a "whore." Desdemona is prepared to let heaven forgive him, but Emilia hopes he will face the hangman’s noose and be damned to hell. This is foreshadowing of Iago’s future execution after he is revealed to be the evil villain he is.
