O, blood, blood, blood!

– William Shakespeare

Othello, Act 3, Scene 3. The blood imagery and repetition highlights how the once calm Othello has been brainwashed by Iago, and is changed into someone incoherent and consumed with a mad rage. Iago’s manipulation has worked and Othello wants bloody revenge. Desdemona’s bloody end at the hands of her husband is foreshadowed here.
