King Lear, Act 5, Scene 3. A challenger steps up to prove Edmund’s treachery through a trial by combat. He says that his name and title have been lost to a traitor, chewed away by treachery. But he is as noble as his opponent and ready to fight. The challenger is a disguised Edgar, who is not yet ready to reveal his identity.
