Hamlet Act 4, Scene 1. Claudius tells Gertrude that they will send Hamlet away to England so that they can explain about his slaying of Polonious. Claudius makes out that he is trying to protect Hamlet. What he omits is that he is having Hamlet shipped to England to be executed, because he fears him and thinks that he is a danger to him.
