Hamlet, Act 3, Scene 1. Hamlet aims this insult at Polonius, when told by Ophelia that her father is at home. Hamlet’s words suggest that he suspects he is being spied on by Polonius as he meets Ophelia in the castle. Polonius and Claudius are actually hiding in order to spy on Hamlet.
