Emma, Chapter 30. As Frank Churchill takes his leave from Emma, he appears to give her misleading signals. Summoned back home by his unwell aunt, he protests about having to leave and remarks on how precious his time in Highbury has been. Emma misinterprets this as a sign of affection for her.
