Dracula, Chapter 21. Dr. Seward describes the shocking scene that he and the others witness after breaking down the door to the Harkers’ bedroom. Jonathan Harker is in a stupor. His wife Mina has been bitten on the neck by Dracula. The Count has violated the sanctity of the Harkers’ marriage bed by attacking and biting Mina there. This is nothing less than rape.
