Dracula, Chapter 15. When Van Helsing asks Arthur Holmwood (now Lord Godalming) if he can cut the head off Lucy’s corpse, Arthur is outraged saying he will not consent to the mutilation of her body. But Van Helsing explains to him here that he also has a responsibilty to others, that Lucy is one of the undead.
