The Canterbury Tales, The Nun’s Priest’s Tale. Chauntecleer describes his dream to Pertelote of seeing a beast like a hound come into the yard, attack him and have him dead. This is foreshadowing of later in the tale when the dream comes true and the Fox attacks the rooster.
