The Canterbury Tales, The Reeve’s Tale. Alan says that Symkyn and his wife and daughter will have the flour (the best) of a bad ending for depriving him of sleep with their loud snoring. The word flour is used metaphorically and it is foreshadowing of the revenge that Alan and John will take on the thieving miller.
