The Canterbury Tales, The Knight’s Tale. The newly released prisoner Arcite says that Fortune has turned the dice for Palamon. For his love rival is able to see Emily from his tower cell every day, and Arcite is not. And an able and worthy knight such as Palamon may sometime attain her desire.
