I want people to think of me as a nice person. I really am so blessed. All of this has been a great experience and I thank the American public so much for putting me in this position. I appreciate every second of it. – Carrie Underwood
I’ve learned this, that haters wanna hate. You could sing a song perfectly, you could write the songs perfectly, and some people are absolutely going to hate you. – Carrie Underwood
The first one I remember singing on stage was ‘Somewhere Out There’ from ‘An American Tail.’ I was around 7, and my choir teacher at school asked me if I would sing it. My parents told me that I needed to move around the stage, so for the entire time I just walked back and forth from side to side while I was singing – there’s videotape of it. – Carrie Underwood
I love being around my friends and my family and spending time with my husband. I like being normal and recharging my batteries, and I feel like I have the coolest job in the world where I get to get on stage and perform and get to do a lot of really amazing things. – Carrie Underwood
The only reason I felt like I could sing a song like ‘Blown Away’ is because I have definitely lived through my fair share of trips to the cellar in the spring. We were no stranger to that. I still ask my mom, ‘Is the cellar cleaned out now? Is everything OK?’ Even in my new house, I had something built in it that’s like a storm shelter. – Carrie Underwood
I have so many wonderful people in my life. I’ve never had any major physical problems or an accident or anything like that. I’m a very, very lucky person, thus far, knock on wood. – Carrie Underwood
I’ve never been one for doing remixes. Then I’ve gotta decide which version am I gonna be tonight: country Carrie or pop Carrie? I’d rather just make country music that anybody can get into no matter what they listen to. – Carrie Underwood
I would say that my role model, as far as just somebody leading by example, which to me is what a great youth counselor does – they are there to talk to and lead by example – would be my mom, but she wasn’t a youth counselor. She was a teacher, and she is a good person and definitely one of the biggest influences in my life. – Carrie Underwood
