QUINCE: Bless thee, Bottom! bless thee! thou art translated.
BOTTOM: I see their knavery. This is to make an ass of me, to fright me, if they could.

– William Shakespeare

A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 3, Scene 1. Quince cries out in horror as he sees Bottom transformed into an ass-headed figure. Bottom thinks that the others are trying to make him look foolish as they run off saying that he is "changed" and "translated." He doesn’t know that his head has changed into an ass. But the audience does, making this a good example of dramatic irony.
