Kylie makes triumphant return to stage after breast cancer battle

"Good evening, Sydney. How are you feeling tonight."

These are the words courageous singer Kylie Minogue greeted her fans with in her spectacular return to the stage after an 18-month battle to beat breast cancer.

The 38-year-old London-based Australian's comeback concert in her native Australia was hailed as a triumph by both critics and fans alike.

For the Sydney show, she wore a pink-feathered headdress on top of her post-chemotherapy crop of short hair and a bejewelled pink bodice by designer John Galliano.

The long-awaited comeback concert was the first time Minogue had performed on stage since being forced to postpone the tour in May last year.

She opened it with her hit 'Better the Devil You Know.' Then followed dance floor favourites 'In Your Eyes' and 'Spinning Around' as well as her new song 'White Diamond.'

The diminutive star's dazzling performance also included 'On A Night Like This,' 'Shocked' and 'Confide in Me.'

She told news reporters "I'm thrilled to be back. I've been looking forward to this for such a long time."

Though admitting that she found quick changes really stressful, she donned a series of eight costumes by designers Gareth Pugh, Dolce e Gabbana, Karl Lagerfield and Emilio Pucci.

The Sydney performance was the first of 20 concerts in her native Australia before a series of dates in the UK in January.

The 2004 Grammy award winner underwent surgery to remove a lump from her breast and finished her chemotherapy treatment in December.
