I've talked about myself for three days and I'm really bored
with myself.

On time spent promoting animated film Barnyard
(2006) in which she provides voice of hen named Etta |
Katherine Hepburn
was just coming into her own at 40.
Andie MacDowell |
I get so exhausted with people's perception of what I must
be like to be 40 when it's actually wonderful. It's incredibly
fabulous. I've never felt sexier in my whole life. I can wear
sexy clothes because I've got an incredible body and I happen
to be 43 but it's really not that hard, all you have to do is
work out a little bit and it's not like everything is falling
apart. I don't know why, what it is that, you know, this magical
number, everything's suppose to go downhill. I actually feel
better about myself. I know who I am. I feel strong. I feel
like I have integrity and intelligence more so than I ever did
in my whole life. Who is it that came up with this idea that
you were going to fall apart?

Interview 2002, at age 43 |
I live in a small town now, so beauty salons are sort of like
where all the gossip ruminates where I live.
Andie MacDowell |
I mean, how many times does an actress get to play a school
headmistress and then go out and have sex on top of a tombstone?
Even when I see it now, I blush.

On role in movie Crush (2001) |
I must be thankful that I get to do intense dramatic roles,
because it takes so much more, whereas I've been doing L'Oreal
forever, and I can do that in my sleep.
Andie MacDowell |
I think hidden underneath a lot of teachers are very sexy
women.
Andie MacDowell |
I think I would be more concerned about a sexually risque
movie, than a movie that reveals a truth that needs to be revealed.
Andie MacDowell |
I think the human body is beautiful, and I don't really have
a huge problem in dealing with it, but it's the context, the
environment and what I feel about it that that makes the difference
for me.
Andie MacDowell |
I feel very comfortable in the UK. I could see myself living
in the Cotswolds. I love it. I've had some great experiences.
This is my fourth film here, and people seem to accept me. It's
always nice to be accepted and welcomed.
